3 Things You Need When Transitioning to a Fall Wardrobe #MomStyleMonday

This post contains affiliate links.  Can you believe that it's almost time to start to feel that crisp chill in the air again? I feel like we were just transitioning into summer mode, right? I don't know about you all, but I've found myself craving it. I'm ready to pull my leggings and oversized sweaters out from storage and snuggle up with a hot cup of coffee (instead of my iced coffee) in the morning again. In my personal life, this week is pretty exciting because my husband will be returning today from his month long military training (you can read more about that here) and I'm just beyond joyful about having him home with us again. We have some big decisions to make this fall and I'm just over here praying so hard that things work out the way we're hoping - but I'll share more on that later. But enough with all that gooey chit chat, let's get to the reason for today's #momstylemonday: wardrobe transitions and items that you must have moving forward into fall. The next few weeks can be tricky because I feel like the weather goes back and forth between chilly and hot as hell, so we gotta be prepared. 3 Things You Need When Transitioning to a Fall Wardrobe #1: A Great Tee! I love having pretty tees handy and if you've followed along this summer, you know that I've been particularly loving the knot-front trend.  This floral tee is from one of my favorites, Pink Blush and is a great transitional piece to have on hand. In these pictures, I have it rolled up a … [Read more...]

My Everyday Go-To’s During The Summer #MomStyleMonday

This post is sponsored by Groupon. Thanks for supporting Project Motherhood. I can't even begin to stress enough how much comfort is a key factor in my summer style. I wish that I could be that mom who dresses perfectly put together day in and day out, but its not my reality right now chasing after this two crazy kids. In fact, (if we're being really, really real here) these jean shorts are one of the only two pairs that fit me right now. Yup, I'm just a girl, standing in front of her closet wishing that I could magically fit into everything again. It's cool though, I'll get there. But I LOVE these jean shorts, they give me life. They are so comfortable and from my go-to when shopping for pants, American Eagle. Their sales are pretty epic and I scored this entire outfit for under $65 - shoes included! (Get 15% off your American Eagle purchase here by shopping at Groupon!) I had been wanting a pair of gladiator sandals this year, but knew they needed to be flats because of all the walking I do and these are so comfortable. I will admit, they take  a little bit to get on, but once they're on I feel like they're the perfect outfit accessory and I wear them with long maxi dresses, too. I recommend wearing them around the house a teeny bit first because there was a little initial rubbing that your feet will need to get used to. And this tee - omg! I tried going back to order more and they were sold out in my size. I'm wearing a medium here and it's so soft … [Read more...]

My Classic Mom Style

This post was sponsored by Reebok as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. From Florida by the pool to a weekend at our busy NYC beaches to back to strolling through this concrete jungle - I've been all over the place. It seems like we have always been close to a body of water lately and this week we went back to one of our favorite spots in the city: The Metropolitan Museum of Art - so fun! Because I work so much and summer is pretty much "camp mommy" I make sure that our weekends are jam packed and that we have at least one week day adventure on a day I can get away. I couldn't keep up with these two without some comfort in my style, so I've been rocking my Reebok Classics from DSW these days! I think you can all agree with me when I say that mom style is all about a mixture of fashion and function, right? We need to be comfortable enough to chase after kiddos, but at the same time, if we're not wearing something that we feel confident in, well....then it's just a bad day. Because that's what my classic mom style is all about,  I couldn't be more excited that the Reebok Club MEMT Classic shoes are back, available at DSW and perfect for everyday style. First things first, I absolutely LOVE shopping at DSW for both me and the kids. It makes shopping much easier, whether I'm shopping online or in-store - or even shopping online and having my shoes shipped to the store. It's convenient and fits … [Read more...]

5 Tips For Transitioning Into Summer Style Mode #MomStyleMonday

This post contains affiliate links.  Happy Monday friends! I know I skipped my mom style post last week, but you know how it is when life gets busy....but I'm back. We just made a last minute decision to fly to Orlando this month and do the whole Universal thing (we'll go back and do Disney when Blake is a little older) while I'm there for a blogging conference. I'm so effing excited, I'm practically bursting at the seams! I've been busy planning and adding a few new items to my wardrobe - which means switching my wardrobe from cold weather to warm weather. So since we chatted about denim last week (such a chic way to up your mom style game - also, here's tips for styling flared denim if that's your jam!), I thought I would talk about transitions today, because this is what my closet is going through right now. First, this outfit though! It's been pretty much a staple for me as I've transitioned my wardrobe. In fact, this is what inspired me to talk about wardrobe transitioning tips today. These sandals are my typical Dolce Vita's that I buy every year because I wear them to the ground. In fact, I'll probably be wearing them as we walk around Universal all day. Jeans are my favorite leggings from No Nonsense (and more really exciting news to come about that!) and this Embroidered Flare Sleeve Blouse from Rosegal was probably my only spontaneous purchase this spring. And of course, to get into full summer mode, this little one is wearing this super sweet Carters … [Read more...]

7 Tips For Styling Denim on Denim #MomStyleMonday

This post contains affiliate links.  Happy Monday lovelies! It's a rainy day in New York City today and my evening plans already got washed away - whomp, whomp - but trying to stay positive and see through these stormy clouds because I'm determined to make it a good week. If you missed last week's mom style Monday, I styled florals, which are so much fun to wear when we transition to spring wardrobes. This past weekend Chris had an army drill weekend, so I was home with kids and we pretty much just chilled. But, if you follow my Instagram stories you saw some park play and that we have a little bitter on our hands - never a dull moment! Since becoming a mom, it's all about casual style for me. Things that I can move in, look chic and can be dressed up if need be are awesome are my go-to's. Denim on denim is a great way to do just that and my whole outfit is courtesy of Liverpool Jeans - which I know you will all love, too. Before I get to my tips, holy moly I need to tell you about these pieces! First, these Sienna Pull on Stretch Capris are the most comfortable ever. They have no button closure and pull on similarly to maternity jeans - but they aren't! They come in the light shade that I'm wearing and also this darker shade, too.  (And if crops aren't your thang, they have shorts which you can check out here.)  Then...there's this amaze bomber jacket! It's not exactly denim, but looks denim and is stretchy and comfortable in all the right places and … [Read more...]

How to Style Florals #MomStyleMonday

Us New Yorkers are known for loving a wardrobe that's filled with lots of black. Don't get me wrong, I have my favorite little black dress hanging in my closet, but as soon as warmer weather becomes the norm, you best bet that florals are coming to the forefront in my closet. Since we've been chatting warm weather dresses with the uber trendy knot-front dress and embroidered dress, I thought it was time to switch up our mom style discussion to florals. // Cold Shoulder Blouse c/o Pink Blush // Today, I'm sharing some of my floral favorites from Pink Blush where (if you've followed along through my pregnancy) has been one of my favorites for quite some time. They have an awesome selection of maternity, women's and plus - so get shopping! If you're going to wear a printed, floral top, I suggest always pairing it with more solid items like denim and a solid color sandal. And of course - don't forget your shades. This is especially important whenever you're also mixing the pattern with another trend like me - the cold shoulder trend - because you don't want your outfit to get overwhelming. You've heard me say for a while that I've wanted to try out the off the shoulder trend that's absolutely everywhere this season and I finally did! I'm pretty much in love because it really is an effortless style, but I do recommend making sure that your pair it with a skinny pant or bottom since most open shoulder tops are more on the tunics side. It just makes … [Read more...]

Embroidered Dresses For Mom #MomStyleMonday

This post contains affiliate links.  A day at the park with my family is what I pretty much crave these days. I think because its fun for them and a pretty relaxing experience for me, too. With the weather getting warmer, you would think that we're seeing more days like these - but with my crazy schedule it's unfortunately been less than I would like. Which makes me sad sometimes (bring on the mom guilt), but we're just going through a period of time where our schedules are kinda nuts and I'm barely coming up for air during the week. But when I do get a break, I do want to dress up a little when we go out because it makes me feel good about myself - even if I'm having a crummy moment on the inside. This Tobi Simple Truth Embroidery Dress has cheered me right up! Last week's mom style Monday I talked about their Knot front dress I've been wearing and this is just another to add to the awesome summer dresses list. Styling Embroidered Dresses This is an easy one because unlike the knot front dress, the embroidered dress doesn't need to much embellishment happening. This dress, I will admit, was a little bit on the see-through side so I did need to wear a basic long tank underneath (like this one) to make sure I wasn't exposing myself to the world. And if you're searching for a good lingerie tip: I finally bought the SPANX Bra-llelujah and I love how it fits, gives me a lift and smoothes everything out underneath my clothes. I styled this embroidered dress … [Read more...]

Styling The Knot Front Dress Trend #MomStyleMonday

This post contains affiliate links.  Happy Monday party people! For the first time in a few weeks, I will admit that I'm feeling refreshed to start a new week, and I hope that you are, too. I've fallen off the "healthy eating wagon" these past couple weeks and am currently reviewing my Whole30 morals getting myself back together. I just don't feel good about myself when I'm not eating right and working out like I should (sluggish is becoming my middle name), so working on those things this week as well as bringing your weekly dose of mom style! If you missed last weeks #momstylemonday - we chatted about organic baby clothes and there's still time to enter the giveaway! Today, I'm sharing a really hot trend right now: the knot front dress. I love this for many reasons, but mostly because it's really effortless. I think that clothing being easy wear is hugely important in a mom wardrobe because we have kids clawing at us all day long. I try to start with pieces that are simple in structure and add easy layers and accessories to amp up the style a bit.   How to Style the Knot Front Dress This Knot Twice Dress  is made from a cozy jersey fabric that hangs nicely on any body shape.  It's great for layering during these transitional months, but also great to be worn by itself with your favorite shades (see above). You might remember this kimono from a post I did back in 2015 - yes this this kimono (similar) is seriously that awesome that it's still a … [Read more...]

Easter Style For Moms #MomStyleMonday

This post contains affiliate links.  It's the first Monday in April and if you're like me - Easter is on your mind. After all, it's a fresh, fun time of year where we can finally get outside more regularly and start seeing Mr. Sun again. It's one of the most lovely times of the year, if you ask me. And with the same breath, if you're like most mamas out there, you have the kids outfits picked out and baskets ready to fill and have completely overlooked yourself. So today, I'm sharing some fresh ways to make Easter style for moms just as fun. Easter Style For Moms Here's the thing: I'm all about non-traditional style for holidays and events, because they need to be pieces that are going to work for you and your wardrobe. I think that bright pinks and stripes are great for the kids and make for memorable pictures, but when it comes to us, we want pieces that truly resemble our style and aren't anywhere near cutesy. Translation: I think Easter style for moms should be pieces that you can integrate intro your wardrobe and wear over and over again. This super cute Carolina Dress from Cooper & Ella is going to be a longtime favorite of mine. I love it because it's completely effortless, comfortable and will look amazing on every different body shape out there. One of the biggest tips of mine for busy moms who have kids pulling at them all day is to choose a dress like this one because it's printed allover and has some slight ruffles for embellishment - meaning … [Read more...]
