So I feel like I have fallen into a little bit of a rut lately. My schedule has gotten increasingly more hectic, as I had been balancing freelancing projects, working almost full time, and running around like a chicken with my head cut off interviewing for numerous positions. Wow! I have been exhausted. Since I have been interviewing aggressively, I have been leaving the house each morning more dressed up that typical, and then coming home, tired, and throwing on my yoga pants right away.

So the little “rut” that I’m currently experiencing comes from the part where I throw on yoga pants right away. You see, I know that my husband loves me no matter how dressed up or dressed down I am, but I’m starting to notice how he would like to experience a little bit more of the dressed up me for more than 20 minutes before I run out the door each morning.

Since this past week, I finally accepted a new job, and will have more of a set schedule, I thought that the week of Valentine’s Day would be perfect to put together some dressed up, looks of love, to wear for the special day. Here are some great ideas that I came up with, because its not always cute saying “hello lover…” while you are adorned in Lululemon.

1. Lace

Lace is really big this season, so we are going to see a lot of it no matter where you are shopping. You don’t need to go with an allover lace look, unless you are hitting the town for a romantic dinner, but looks that include lace insets are great for a little peek-a-boo action. Companies like Express are even adding fun lace accents to tee shirts, which will surely spice up any look and be comfortable as well.

2. Pencil Skirts

Pencil skirts are great because they translate from day to evening perfectly, plus show off your curves and ass-ets! It’s important to find a pencil skirts that fits you properly and hits you in the right places. Some women need a pencil skirt that hits at the low waist, while other need something high waisted with a chunky belt. They also come in a variety of length so appease your figure. Either way, there is certainly a pencil skirt on the market to make you look flawless!

4. Off The Shoulder

This is an especially enticing look if you are seeking a quiet but decidedly unboring Valentine’s Day at home.  Say “hello lover” by showing just enough of your sulty self with an off the shoulder blouse to ensure a spicy evening. Plus, it’s an overall look that’s wearable in many circumstances, so your partner should have plenty of chances to appreciate you rocking this piece while reminding him of your romantic side whenever you wear it.

What look will you be flaunting this Valentine’s Day? Will you be doing subtly sexy or provokingly provocative? Or simply ignoring the date and reverting back to yoga pants?  Sounds like a choice!  So, don’t forget, my sexy Mamas…it’s 2013 and our goal is to either try things differently this year or to make strides toward improving them! Happy Day, Lovers.

Fashionably Yours,
