If your house is anything like my house, the past few weeks have been filled with lots of “The Easter bunny is coming, so you better behave” and “Yes, just like Santa Claus….he’s looking through the windows!” No mater how much we promise ourselves, we always end up using these upcoming holidays to get our kiddos to listen, behave, and help around the house.
So for Easter this year, we are waking up with Branden to see what the Easter Bunny brought him, and then heading to brunch at a Manhattan hot spot with friends to indulge in pastries and mimosas. Yummy! (I’m not gonna lie…I’ve kinda been looking forward to this meal as long as I’ve been singing “Here comes Peter Cottontail…”)
So, what are the most important aspects of this day? Ya know? Besides the beautiful marriage between orange juice and champagne? To me, part of the answer is very simple: children’s clothing and their fabulous Easter baskets, of course! (I of course acknowledge that for some of us this is a religious holiday, as well. We at Project Motherhood will stick with our stated mission pertaining to Parenting and Fashion issues, while respecting the religious freedoms that all Americans can celebrate, whether you celebrate Easter or Passover or the Rites of Spring in some other way.)
So – the fashion! Now, I may be partial to Egg by Susan Lazar, but what is cuter than your little one dressed in seersucker during this time of year? We have everything you could possibly want in seersucker starting at sizes 3-6 months all the way up to 6 years for boy and girl! So whether you are attending a family brunch or headed to an event where you know there will be a photographer, these outfits will create the absolute best memories. (In modern day terms: pictures of your wee ones in these clothes will get the most “likes” on Facebook.)
Then, we have those great big Easter baskets to fill. My husband and I always try to do a little mixture of things that Branden needs + what Branden actually wants. (Call me crazy, but I don’t think there is anything wrong with him finding that toddler toothpaste he is currently running low on amongst the chocolate, candies, and little toys.) Plus, each year I follow along my Mamas footsteps, and make sure that Branden is set with a spring outfit and bathing suit to complete his Easter morning memories.
